Please give a warm Ruby Rock-it welcome to: Pamela Young!

 

We are just thrilled to have this amazing designer, Pamela Young join our wonderful team!

Hi everyone!  My name is Pamela Young and I look forward to being a part of the design team for Ruby Rock-It!  My main passion is scrapbooking, although my art journal and mixed media projects come in a close second. I also enjoy making cards and other home decor projects.  I have been scrapbooking for at least 12 years, although I was recently going through some boxes from my childhood and realized that I pretty much scrapbooked back then too. I was also lucky enough to inherit my grandmother's old scrapbooks recently, so I guess it runs in the family.  My style can only be called the "Pamelastyle"...not really defined by any other so called style. My style typically includes lots of layers and I love including techniques on my pages. I have been very lucky to work with many different fantastic companies over the years.  I have also been published in several different magazines, including Cards, Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Scrapbooks and Cards Today, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends.

 I currently live in beautiful Colorado, and I am a stay-at-home mom to two wild boys, ages 10 (well...almost 10) and 8, and a 4 year old girl. They grow up so fast. I am enjoying life right now, even though it can get a bit chaotic.

And here's a peek into her first layout with us...

 

Something that I just LOVE to do is combine kraft cardstock or papers with other colors in other collections, and the Carnival Queen collection was perfect for this.  I think by combining the kraft with the color, it just makes the colors pop more.  Another thing I love to do is add stitching to my layouts.  The grid on the kraft paper made a perfect guide for poking my holes when planning my stitching.  I knew I wanted to try something fun and different and created a fun background behind my photos with hand stitching.  Then I just layered everything around my photos, including the all-important story found in the journaling.  That is another thing that I love to do with my layouts...journaling, I'm a big fan of the stories and thoughts.  This layout actually came together rather quickly and easily.
