It is hard for me to do projects about myself, do you have that problem too? But as our team was prepping for CHA and working with the beautiful China Blue line I found a picture of myself that worked perfectly with the cool tones of this line. I was really tempted to do the intricate layering that is so popular in crafting right now, but I felt that the best way to tell my story was to use the tiny letter stickers and place words strategically around the page that are either descriptive of me or what I am working on in my life. This gave me a really interesting snapshot of where I am at in my life.
On all of my projects using China Blue I stitched in silver thread, a little touch that reflected my personality and gave me a feeling of consistency as I worked to prepare my booth assignments.
I have always loved that saying "Live, Laugh, Love"! The way I had pre-sewn the boxes and then filled them in randomly as I worked made it so that I needed to place the negative of the die cut hearts in a certain place, and it made me look at the project with fresh eyes! Love is such a huge component of who I am. Having it serendipitously in the center of the layout reminded me to stay true to who I am!
It is always fun to make projects with scraps and that is how the layout was put together, whenever I would have a beautiful scrap I would place it on the layout.
Building cards is another great way to use scraps!
I loved the flower in this section, and punched the edge of the white card stock and then stitched around the scallops for a little extra bling. It certainly isn't perfect, and I questioned whether I should have done it or not. But after looking at it and the cool texture and unique feel I am glad that I did!
I know that whoever gets this card will know that it is hand made! And who doesn't love to get a card that someone took the time to make for them? I know I do!
Happy Crafting, and enjoy the creative process!

Cute card and lovely layout Becky - your China Blue scraps make a fab quilt effect that works wonderfully with your photo!!! I love using those little alphas for sentiments on cards, so I thank you for the inspiration to use them on layouts too :)
