While we don't experience the seasons in tropical Singapore, we do observe the mid-autumn festival. It's a lunar celebration where families gather for moon viewing, eating special lotus cakes and children get to play with lanterns.
I used various blush-colour papers from the Cook collection to create a block for my photo, journaling and title. Purple comes from the Boutique Christmas collection. I couldn't resist using it as an accent colour as I've been seeing it everywhere in fashion recently.
The background of black pokka dots and yellow quatrefoil reminds me of the night sky and brillance of the full moon. My favourite part of this layout is the cascade of transparent half circles and quatrefoil cut-outs along the right. They evoke nostalgic memories of the folktale told to children during this festival - of the star-crossed lovers watching the waxing and waning of the moon and that magical pill that separated them.
