Mixing it Up

Here's my layout based on this month's sketch challenge. Not normally a multi-photo scrapper, it got me to try something new scrapping these two pictures of my nephew racing on the go-kart track.

 

I used quite a few geometric patterns on this layout, mixing papers from several CHA 2012 Summer collections. My tip for a sucessful mix-and-match is to go for a variety in scale. The two black patterns are tightly scaled, while the background grey pattern is medium sized. I've also repeated the houndstooth pattern, in small scale grey circles and in the large scale red border.

 

I also have an off-the-page project for you. I turned a pack of Bella! RSVP Cards into a notecard giftset. Hope these inspire you to try mixing and matching your patterned papers too.
