Pretty Vellum Containers

Happy Monday, everyone!  Jodi here today to share with you a project that I did using vellum! I love designing fun little projects, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with some of the vellum that I recieved.  I created cute little sour cream containers, which you can put whatever little things you wish in it! I am going to be using them for girls birthday's in my daycare as little special treat to attach to their present.  You could also use them for wedding favors, baby shower favors, or even a surprise in your child's lunch box.  Here are three examples of what I created:

To decorate the sour cream vellum containers, I used some coordinating Fundamental Flowers and of course some Bella Bling and trim.   Here is a close up of one of the containers:

Sweet Sophie with Nostalgia

Hello, friends!  Keely here with today's project.  I had so much fun designing a layout with my favorite collection, Nostalgia, featuring my sweet great niece, Sophie.

I love the beautiful colors and patterns in this collection. The combination of bright colors and vintage patterns is perfect.  Ruby Rock-it dimensional embellishments include felt, twine, and glittered letters.  SO sweet!

I love the diecuts found in each Ruby Rock-it collection. I layer and mount them with dimensional adhesive to create fun accent pieces.

Good Friends with Nostalgia

Hi, there!  Keely here to share my latest project.  I just knew that the beautiful colors and patterns of the "Nostalgia" collection would be perfect about a layout about my son and his best buddy, Trooper.

So many wonderful papers, stickers, and diecuts in this collection!  I created this layout with lots of odds and ends left from my other projects.  I love the results--bright, loud, and bit chaotic...just like my teen son :)  The Bella! Ruby Rock-it glittered cardstock was such a fun item to include.  I also adore the print patterned paper and spool top paper...so interesting!

The variety of sticker letters and labels adds to the charm of this collection. I cut, distressed, inked, and layered remnants of my "Nostalgia" collection to create a layout I am thrilled with.  Do you save bits and pieces of your favorite collections to create projects?  You just never know what you can create with odds, ends, and imagination.

Having some fun with Bella!

Good morning everyone! All this month we have been showing you projects with our new Vellum. I hope you all have liked them. I know I did but today I am going to show you a cute little card I made using the Bella! Paper Boy line. This line is just so fun I decided to make a cute card for that special little boy. I accented the card with a denim pocket where I was able to add the money and a cute little candy tube surprise...

I also wanted to show you a really cool project I did for a crop challenge over NSD weekend. These were so easy to make I have actually made 4 more for end of the year teacher gifts. I am filling them with cards, envelopes, stamps and a pen. This one I made for you today with the Bella! Keepsakes line was used to hold the August Moon mini album I made for my mother for Mother's Day. I hope you like it as much as she did...

Vellum Card with custom coloured flowers

Hi Ruby Rock-it Fans! JJ here again, this time with a vellum card for Mom. (Might be a little late for Mother's Day, but shouldn't every day be Mother's Day?) ;)

For this card, I made a bunch of flowers and 'greenery' from additional sheets of vellum:

Now, the vellum comes in classic white with silver, so if you want a little colour, you have to add it.  I decided to use Pan Pastels for the colour, and added it to the back of the vellum, to keep it subtle.  Vellum isn't the best surface for pastels, so you need to give it a little help with a coat of workable fixative after you add the colour.

This is how it looks from the front:

From there, I just punched out the shapes and adhered with dimensional adhesive for a pretty floral arrangement.

Happy mother's day!!

Today I'm sharing a layout with my two girls : they have made me be the mother I am and i'm so happy to have these little sweetie all the day with me !! In France we celebrate this day soon (the 2 of June).

Vellum Gift Wrap Garland by Becky Olsen

Hello Friends in Happy Paper Crafting!

I want to share a fun and fresh way to create a vellum garland that can be used as a gift wrap garland that will be re-usable as a sweet decor item.

Start with a few paper punches or die cut shapes, and some of the beautiful vellum patterns.

I used one sheet from each of the smaller vellum packs and started punching!

Once you have a nice pile of shapes, turn on the sewing machine and start feeding in one piece at a time, leaving a tiny space (1/4" to an 1") between each.

Continue until you have run out of punched pieces or you achieve your desired length. I was able to stitch about six feet of garland with just three small sheets of paper!

Wrap a gift in desired paper, I love the look of the kraft color with this elegant white and silver vellum. It gives a "delicious juxtaposition" and one of my favorite crafty friends calls it  ;o)

You could add a tag, write on the kraft wrap or one of the shapes with a permanent pen. Elegant, easy and when the wrap has served its original purpose, the garland can be kept and hung in a window for a beautiful reminder from a special day.

I rather fancy this, so I will be making a few more to keep these company in my craft room window. When a breeze is blowing I think they will be even more beautiful and eye catching!

Being your Mom

Hi Ruby Rock-it fans,

I hope that you are enjoying the month of May and getting lots of ideas here on the RR blog that

have given you inspiration for celebrating Moms.

I have a layout to share with you today about Motherhood.  This photo was taken a few months ago and it is very special to me because my daughter just this last month entered into the "teen years".  Hard to believe that I am the mother of a 13year old now.  She is going through lots of changes and growing up is hard, so I wanted to do a layout about our relationship.

Being your Mom layout:

I used papers, felt icons, banners, chipboard letters and stickers from the Paper doll collection and Bella! candy dot cardstock.

A Month for Mom

Personally I think one day is not enough to celebrate Moms and all we do. Since my Mom lives far from us, we don't get to spend mother's day together, so even short visits are treasured. The moments I find the most precious are seeing my Mom and my kids together and how much they all love each other.

I used 2 different Ruby Rock-It Sugar Candy Embossed cardstock designs for the background and then loaded it up with Nostalgia goodies.

This is the first time I tried pairing Nostalgia with a black background, but it won't be the last! I love the way it makes the bright colors pop!

So, if you are like me and don't have any Mother's Day photos you can still make a Mom focused layout to celebrate the Moms or mother figures in your life!
